My 10 Predictions for The Content Wrangler

When I said it was prediction season, I wasn’t kidding. No sooner did I post on CMS Watch’s 12 predictions for 2009 than The Content Wrangler came along and invited me to make some of my own.

Here’s the summary of my 10 content-related predictions for 2009:

  • Component-based authoring moves beyond techpubs
  • Microsoft SharePoint continues strong march
  • Enterprise XML repositories emerge
  • Content goes offense
  • Cloud confusion will end
  • Power, space, and cooling become “hot” items
  • XML will be dubbed an overnight success
  • Metadata will continue to rise in importance
  • Markup goes inline
  • Enterprise search engines caught between a rock and a hard place
